butter london nail lacquer in the black knight and knackered review, swatches

Q: What is this, a nail blog? You take a week and a bit off to post yet another nail post, Kitty? What are you doing?
A: I like nail polish and I'm trying not to buy any more makeup to save money! DEAL. ♥ (Never fear, I'm editing a makeup review now though. Also no, I'm not finding myself a loophole by buying nail things lol)

Today I bring you two polishes from Butter London. The Black Knight, which is a black base littered with blue, pink and silver glitter, and Knackered, a purple-teal duochrome with tiny holographic sparkles.

Anyone who knows me should know my love for Butter London. Great colours, fast drying, beautiful flow. Every time a magazine comes out with BL attached to its cover, I'll buy all the shades.

The Black Knight is stunning and a super awesome fun glitter party on the nails. Looks fine at 2 coats, best in 3, not super gritty texture. Unfortunately, like all dense glitters, chips like a mofo. Day two and we have massive chunks :(

This pic also looked really good. More helpful in this format, or holding the bottle? Let me know! n___n

Knackered, sadly, was a disappointment. Annoyingly sheer! By the time something takes more than 3 coats to look nice I give up and it's not worth it. This needed 5! On the flipside, the high shimmer effect meant any visible nail line wasn't too noticeable in some light. :( Beautiful colour though... but I found an alternative.

DUN DUN DUN

3 coats of Butter London Knackered on left, 3 coats of OPI Not Like The Movies with China Glaze Fairy Dust on top. Knackered has a more teal reflect while NLTM is more murky green-grey, but not a bad dupe.
